Westminster
Dog Show on television Feb. 9-10 I
received the following email from the national Cavalier Club and thought our
members might be interested in watching the Cavalier judging online. See below. "Sent:
Monday, January 26, 2009 8:45 AM As
you know, the 133rd Annual Westminster Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show
is February 9-10 here in New York. For the past four years, we have done
10-12 minutes of streaming video highlights of all the breed judging for our Web
site. This
year, we will expand the coverage in 8 selected breeds to include ALL of
the judging: Golden Retrievers and Labradors, Beagles (15"),
Dogue de Bordeaux, Border Terriers, Cavaliers, French Bulldogs and
Australian Shepherds. This coverage will include a very simple narration
that has the simple purpose of identifying the dogs (by armband numbers) for the
videos (no commentary, no on camera appearances, no names, just armband numbers
so people can look up the names themselves in our online catalog). It
would also include a bit of "traffic directing" to point out what is
going on in the ring (e.g., "The judge is now checking in the class,"
"The judge has divided the class by sex and will first examine the
dogs," etc., and at the end, "Dog #XX is Best of Breed, #XX is Best of
Opposite Sex, and #XX, #XX and #XX are Award of Merit winners." This will, of course, give people at home the chance to see all of the judging for your breed. Our Web site is www.westminsterkennelclub.org
Rescue
dogs on the Big Island Received
the following email from a member on the Big Island as she is on the mailing
list for the Humane Society. If anyone is interested in adopting these
Cavaliers, please contact Ms. Moniz at the number below. From:
Susan R. Loewenhardt I know that none of you are personally looking for another dog right now but maybe you know of someone who is. The dogs are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, sisters about 5 years old found at the Keaau Humane Society. Please forward this email to your friends and hope they will continue to forwarded it as well. Hopefully we can find all of these dogs good homes. To anyone adopting it is recommended that you take the dog or dogs to your veterinarian for a wellness check. If there are any major health concerns found that you do not wish to deal with you may return the dog/dogs to the Humane Society and receive a refund of your adoption fee. Many mahalos, Sue Milo & Kula are female Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, said to be approximately 5 years old, available for adoption through the Hawaii Island Humane Society in Keaau. Milo on the right is the smaller of the two. Kula is larger and a little heavier set but not fat. They are in Foster care at my residence and can be seen by contacting me: Frances Moniz via email fmoniz@hawaii.rr.com or phone (808) 895-0819.
Milo
is currently vaccinated, Micro chipped and spayed. Kula is Heartworm
positive and will need to be treated by a veterinarian. Whoever
wishes to adopt Kula MUST agree to have her treated and I will work out those
arrangements with the adoptees personally since I have taken on the
responsibility of her care. Thank
you for your willingness to help in finding these sweet little girls homes.
I am hoping that they can go together but it's not mandatory. I would like to
see them go to a home where there is familiarity with the breed and absolutely a
fenced yard. Thank you so much for caring, Frances Moniz |
